Brady was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on April 14, 2005 and then relapsed on September 20, 2010. Brady received a bone marrow transplant from his little brother, Shaun, whom was a perfect match on February 2, 2011. Throughout his treatment Brady received care at Penn State Health Children’s Hospital. Brady and his family were also benefactors of Four Diamonds. Since then, he is monitored to ensure that the cancer stays in remission, as well as monitor long-term side effects.

Brady Lucas currently works as a Gift Officer for Four Diamonds at Penn State Health Children’s Hospital. Brady interacts with supporters of THON ™, Mini-THON®, and general Four Diamonds to secure resources as well as better inform them on the impact of their gifts.

Brady is from York, Pennsylvania, where he now resides. He recently graduated in May from The Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biobehavioral Health with a minor in Health Policy and Administration. While at Penn State, Brady served multiple roles within the Penn State IFC/ Panhellenic Dance Marathon, commonly known as THON. Brady was most recently honored to serve as the Special Events Director for THON 2018.

Prior to Brady’s role at Four Diamonds, he served as an Intern for the Nittany Lion Club with the Penn State Division of Development and Alumni Relations. Brady also was a Community Service Intern for Be The Match, operated by the National Donor Program, in which he helped facilitate marrow swab events through the Northeast Region. Throughout his time interning and volunteering with Be The Match, he has helped recruit over 750 members to the registry.

In his free time, Brady serves as the Co-Chairman/ Co-Founder of the Brady C. Lucas Golf Outing, which is a 501©3 organization that has donated over $269,000 to Four Diamonds and $8,800 to Make-A-Wish Greater PA and West Virginia. Brady also enjoys spending time with his family and friends, golfing, cooking/ baking, and watching sports. Brady lives by the phrase “Smiles Make The World Go Round,” because he believes a smile can change anyone’s life.
